Water softening is a process used to remove all calcium and magnesium compounds from the water, which are responsible for the hardness of the water.

Hard water is very disadvantageous because the limescale, which is precipitated from water during drying, heating, cooking or evaporation, have very negative impact on equipment. What's more, the limescale deposit is an excellent thermal insulator. This means that when deposited on the heating elements it forms a durable insulation, which results in increased consumption of electricity.

Soft water perfectly protects devices that come in contact with hot water or steam before settling on the limescale. It increases efficiency and extends the lifetime of devices. Using soft water also leads to a significant reduction in the use of detergents used in dishwashers, floor cleaning, sanitation, laundry, etc. In addition, soft water strengthens the detergent, so stains difficult to remove are no longer a problem.
